I studied Industrial Engineering in Bilbao (Spain, my country of origin) and Copenhagen (Denmark). I started my career in business consulting (Accenture) in Spain and subsequently moved to Paris to study business. I then moved to London where I lived and worked for 6 years (Capital Markets, Bank of America Merrill Lynch "BofAML").
In London, I met Andrea, my husband and father of our two daughters, Nike and Chloe. We decided to move to Milan, where, career-wise, I had to start all over again. I learned Italian while commuting to Lugano to work for a small private bank (Banca Zarattini, a client of mine at BofAML). Once I mastered the language, I found a job in Milan, at Rothschild & Co (Asset Management division), where I currently work as a Director, responsible for the Italian wholesale business and for the Spanish market.
Within finance, my true passion is Impact Investing. I strongly believe that finance can be a force for good and that Impact Investing can help us humans achieve the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). The world needs trillions of USD to achieve the UN SDGs before 2030. Currently, there are billions invested (by governments and philanthropy mainly) to achieve these goals. That's way too little. The good news is that the money exists: it is in private hands. We need this private capital to achieve the world's most pressing goals and Finance can be the bridge that allows this capital to reach the other shore, i.e., to reach those who are most in need, as well as to build a greener and cleaner planet for everyone. At Rothschild, we are currently launching a Microfinance investment fund. We are also exploring the feasibility of launching a European Affordable Real Estate fund (my personal initiative).
My other passion is Gender Equality (SDG #5). I am working tirelessly both inside and outside my organization to promote Gender Equality.
Outside Rothschild, I co-founded MWE with my dear friend Simonetta Cristofari. MWE's mission is to build a clear moral and economic case for gender parity and for an inclusive culture in the financial industry. For us, gender is just a starting point for addressing diversity: our vision is an industry that welcomes everyone, regardless of gender, background, sexual orientation, age, race, ethnicity or religion. An industry that becomes more diverse, more inclusive, more human, more social and more environmental.
Inside Rothschild, I am also a Gender Parity advocate and a member of the Women Leadership Forum (WLF), an initiative launched by Alexandre de Rothschild a year ago, a month after taking over the leadership of the firm from his father David. I have attached a couple papers I wrote as a member of this initiative.
I am also a volunteer of the Rothschild in the Community program; I am the mentor of a brilliant high school student (female) from an economically disadvantaged background. My role is to support her in the pursuit of her aspirations and to make a meaningful difference in her professional life.
I am engaged in all of the above because I believe that the world we want to leave to future generations will come by choice, and not by chance. We can choose to contribute to positive change. As women, we need to stand together because one woman can be ignored, ten women can be discarded, but all of us together constitute half of the population and we become unstoppable. At this crucial point in history (with raising inequalities, increasing social, political and cultural divisions, rapid technological change disrupting entire industries and the post-war international order at risk), it is crucial for men and women to stand united and work hand in hand to build a fair, inclusive and sustainable future, for EVERYONE.

Aberdeen Standard Investments (Suisse)
Paola is a director for business development and member of the board of Aberdeen Standard Investments (Suisse). She joined the company as a result of the merger between Aberdeen Asset Management and Standard Life in August 2017. Paola joined Aberdeen in 2015 from Saint George Capital Management (part of UnipolSAI Assicurazioni, formerly Fondiaria-SAI Group) where she was CEO and Investment Manager. Previously, Paola worked as Hedge Fund Manager for Banca Gesfid (Fondiaria-SAI Group), Vicos SA, Banca Zarattini &CO.
Paola has been a director of the London board of the 100 Women in Finance association from 2013 to 2018 and founded the Lugano-Milano locations with a group of like-minded industry colleagues in 2010. She is co-head of CAIA Zurich Chapter since 2017. Paola graduated with a MSc in Chemical Engineering from Politecnico di Torino (1998).

Since 2014, Guendalina is the Chairwoman and General Director of Inversis Gestion, a Spanish asset management company part of the Banca March Group. With more than 15 years of experience in asset management, she previously worked in international firms like CNP and Allfundsbank in Madrid and Intesa SanPaolo in Milan covering roles related to multimanager, from fund selection to portfolio management. Guendalina is a CFA Charterholder and she is actively involved in gender diversity being a board member of the CFA Spain - Woman in Finance group. Moreover, she is currently the Chairwoman of the International Advisory Board for Fund Selection, a board aimed to promote fund selection development. She graduated in Financial markets from the University of Bergamo.

Manuela Froehlich is Global Head of Business Development at LRI Group in Luxembourg. Her responsibilities comprise growing the business internationally and implementing a global distribution network to support the asset management clients of LRI Group in raising capital for their Luxembourg fund vehicles, worldwide.
Manuela has nearly 30 years' experience in the banking & Investment industry, focusing on the areas of client services & solutions, managing international sales teams and implementing successful distribution strategies. She started her career in Germany at HypoVereinsbank in 1991 and moved to London 10 years later to join F&C Investments, in order to develop their mutual fund sales business from scratch. During the following 10 years, Manuela was responsible for building up an international client service team and to support and later lead international distribution of mutual funds across Europe and LATAM.
In 2014 Manuela became co-founder of Fondsfrauen, the leading German speaking business network for women in asset management, reaching over 2000 women in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The successful development and the international demand is now supporting Fondsfrauens' efforts to expand into other countries, starting with Luxembourg.

Guido heads the London based fund selection team of the Multi Asset Group of DWS with a vast remit across traditional and alternative asset classes, active and passive instruments.
He joined DWS (at the time Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management) in 2015, with 6 years of industry experience. Prior to joining, Guido was a senior investment analyst for liquid alternative strategies and related portfolios construction for institutional clients at Bourne Park Capital, London. Guido began his career as a junior trader for government bonds at Unicredit, Milan.
Guido holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics and MSc in Finance from the University of Florence and Copenhagen Business School; He is a CFA Charterholder and Certified EFFAS ESG Analyst.

President of CFA Society Italy
Giancarlo Sandrin is President of CFA Society Italy since 2016 and he is responsible for LGIM's Italian Wholesale & Retail market. He joined LGIM in 2018 from BlackRock where he held the title of Head of Asset Manager Clients for iShares Italy and was responsible for developing the ETF business among the Italian wholesale market. Prior to that, he was part of HSBC investments covering the Italian wholesale market. Giancarlo graduated from Bocconi University in Economics and he is a CFA Charterholder.
Sara Silano joined Morningstar in 2003, where she has been Managing Research Editor since 2012. Sara has a deep knowledge of asset management industry, mutual funds, ETFs and pension funds. Moreover, she is part of the Morningstar ESG Thought Leadership Team and she is in charge of spreading the awareness of sustainable investments through financial education, editorial contents, research, media and events. She has been a member of the steering board of Italy SIF/the Italian Sustainable Investments Forum (SIF) since 2017. She graduated in Communication Sciences at University of Turin and she has been in the investment industry for 20 years.
